Saved by the....t-shirt?

I'm all for helping someone who gets in a bind - through no fault of their own but someone who squanders their money and then wants someone else to bail them out??? Sorry. Not for me.

Have you seen the news that Dustin Diamond (aka Screech from Saved by the Bell) is about to lose his home to foreclosure so he wants to sell t-shirts to raise the money? He said that "If the public didn't care, I as an entertainer wouldn't have been a success."

Dude, you're asking for handouts. Obviously our definitions of "success" differ.

I don't know. Maybe it's just me but I wouldn't buy one of those shirts if the money was given to me to do so. To do so would only encourage this type of behavior in the future, by him and others who would either a) live beyond their means; or b) piss their money away and expect hard working people (who live within their means) to support them.

So not happening!

Never watched the show, but the guy looks like a dweeb. :)

I loved Screech. I'm glad he's enjoying his comedy. But as the Grr! guy on FoxNEWS.com said, Go flip burgers and wait tables like the rest of the stand-up comics have to do to make ends meet.

But I dunno... he might have a good idea. Anybody want a "I knew Honey Bumpers back when" shirt? (Jeez, I crack myself up)

It's not so much the person (Screech) that I have a problem with as I do his attitude. It's like he thinks it is owed to him to have the general public pay for HIS expenses. (probably was the comment he made that I posted that really annoyed me)

Anyway, Honey, you have one of those shirts made up and autograph and not only will I buy it, I might even wear it to the GH/Rita Award ceremonies. ;-)

I'm totally with you on the annoyance factor, Lucy. It struck me as funny at first, and then just plain sad.

You have no idea how hard it is to keep a straight face when thinking about you wearing that shirt to the GH/Ritas. Darn it, I'm at work. :D I think the shirt will be yellow with pink writing.

Okay, if this t-shirt thing works, I'll puke.

On a brighter note, I see you're reading "The Frog Prince". I'm dying to know how you like it. I've never read Jane Porter, but I love her as a workshop presenter.
