Favorite Moments

I never once watched Everybody Loves Raymond when it was on prime time television but I've seen it in its syndicated life. I doubt I've seen all the episodes but it's a funny show. Some of my favorite episodes include the one where Debra and Ray leave their luggage on the stair landing, or the episode where they remember how they met. But one episode that makes me laugh until tears are streaming down my face - every time I watch it - is the one where Robert deliberately munks up his wedding invitation because Ray and Frank convince him Amy really wants to do the invitations and he's taking that away from her if he does them himself.

And then there were two

Have you been watching the Bachelor this season? Last season's cast off, Jason Mesnick, is this season's bachelor. He's the single father who won everyone's - except Deanna's - heart last year. He's back to find the woman of his dreams.

Now, I have to remind you all that I'd never watched the Bachelor before Deanna's season. I saw the last five minutes of her season when she was rejected by Brad and this was how (and why) my friend was able to convince me to watch the Bachelorette.

And, although Jason was an early favorite of mine last season, he lost some points by being reluctant to mention his child to Deanna. I mean, Ty is supposedly the most important thing in the world to Jason but he let her potential negative reaction keep him from mentioning it for several weeks. That was a problem for me. I mean, I still liked him a lot and thought he deserved to be in the final two but it weighed heavily enough that I was a Jesse girl. In the end, Deanna was too - well, at least for the public, she's since given up on him.

Anyway, I liked Jason enough that I was willing to spend another season watching him try to find true love. On the first night I sent an email to my good friend (the one who got me to watch) and told her what my initial reaction was to the ladies, just from their meeting Jason outside the limo. I said I thought Shelby would be the winner. And for those of you wondering who the heck Shelby is, she was eliminated that first night. Goes to show what I know. lol

I did, however, send a second email that evening, after the rose ceremony, telling my friend who I thought would be in the top three. I said, Melissa (score!), Megan (really? I liked Megan? Well, at least I'm over it now!) and the "Brazilian girl" (Raquel, I think). Okay, so I'm not that great at predicting - at least I'm not charging for this, right?


Well, tomorrow is the finale and we find out who he selected. There's been talk and rumors about it but no one really knows. I've saved all the shows because I had planned to go back when it was all over and see if I could see the real thing developing - or if they deliberately edited to mislead. My friend knows this and has asked me a couple of times to go back and look at things.

So, here are some things that I've discovered to have been misleading...

My friend wanted me to go back and look at the previews and see who all was still there when Deanna showed up. Well, they showed the ladies at the pool saying "where is she?" and the like and looking up - as if they were looking into the window where Deanna and Jason were. They showed Shannon saying "I cried over Deanna" (or something to that effect). She has been gone a couple of weeks and Deanna hasn't shown up yet...she was talking about the previous season.

You see the hands of whoever Jason proposes to...they have what appears to be a french manicure. She also has on a pinky ring. I saw a youtube thing that someone posted after the first night and he was predicting Melissa as the winner because of the pinky ring. Also, at the last rose ceremony, Molly had on red nail polish and Melissa had, what appeared to be, a french manicure. Seems like a lock, right?

Well, on The Women Tell All edition last week, they showed more previews for the final show. It shows Molly giving herself a french manicure and wearing a pinky ring. So, I'm back to square one and have no idea who he's going with.

I have, however, seen Jason on interviews. This past week he was on the View and they said the rumor was that he proposed to Melissa and immediately regretted it and that that has something to do with him hanging over the balcony crying his eyes out. He neither confirmed or denied the rumor.

They've said the after the final rose episode is done without an audience, due to the potential drama. Someone pointed out that it could be that they didn't want to traumatize Ty, who would probably be there. That makes sense so I'm going on that assumption at the moment.

But as for the final two, I'm still rooting for Melissa. I think she is the most genuine and seems to be the best fit for Ty. She's sweet and pretty. I'm just hoping that her family's lack of participation didn't hurt her.

As for Molly, there's something about her I don't like. She doesn't seem to be genuine to me. She seems in it to win it, rather than to be truly falling in love. She also seemed, to me, to be trying to undermine the others' confidence. She came back from a date with Jason and said that Natalie had named names of trouble makers. Not only did he not say that, Natalie hadn't named names so she created some drama for some unknown reason. She also made a point of letting everyone know she spent the night with Jason and "got very little sleep" leading people to believe they'd slept together when, if you believe Jason, they didn't (and considering he refuses to discuss whether or not he slept with them on the overnight dates, I believe him on that). I will be very disappointed if Jason goes with Molly. In fact, I don't think I'll watch again if he does...Well...until next season anyway. ;)

Sucked in

A friend of mine is a huge fan of The Bachelor series. I'd never really watched it but the little bits I'd seen, well, I just didn't get it. Really didn't get it. But I know lots of people have to get it because it's been around for a while. Anyway, right now I couldn't tell you to save my life what made me decide to watch The Bachelorette this season - but I did. And I'm hooked. I want to know who DeAnna picks and if it's a love match or just a potential love match. I've been amazed at the choices she's made. Not because I thought they were good choices but because I didn't get them. I don't get the appeal of Graham. Never have. A person's personality can make them more or less attractive to me and Graham seemed lacking in that area - to me - so he was never this sexy thing that everyone seems see. I've been stunned at how long he's lasted. Now, I will say that on the home town dates he showed a different side of himself - something we haven't seen on air before. THAT Graham was fun and sexy. Until they sat on the bench to talk, when his appeal bottomed out again. I'm telling you, if Graham hadn't been the one to go Monday I would have lost all enthusiasm I've been getting for the show.

On the other hand, I'm just a little bit in love with Jesse now. He doesn't have classic good looks by any means but he's a good guy. He's the kind of guy you can have fun with, who would respect you, and who would take care of you. Major sexy in my book. And when they walked into his house and he explained that thing on the wall about the foundation for kids, it really touched me. It brought a smile to my heart and a tear to my eye. That's when I fell in love with him. Plus, I LOVED his parents. Seriously, they were great. His dad came out in a cap that had long hair attached to it, as a joke. Just shows they have great senses of humor and lots of personality. You see where Jesse gets it from. I didn't really get the labeling in his kitchen and I have to be honest, from what I've been hearing about it and others' reaction to it, I'm thinking it could be something that, over time, could result in justifiable homicide. But at the time I wasn't thinking like that. And since he's so respectful of the people in his life, he might be willing to give that up...especially if it could save his life. ;) I think Jesse has a good shot at being DeAnna's top choice.

Jason is another contender for DeAnna's heart. For me, though, he lost me early on. On the very first night I fell a little in love with him but once he had some alone time with DeAnna and he didn't tell her about his son, he lost me. My friend, the one who got me hooked, keeps telling me that they never know when they're going to be interrupted so she can forgive him for that. Okay, I can see that. BUT, when he got the one-on-one date he wasn't as open as I thought he should be. It was like her opinion of it mattered to him. As if, if she had a problem with it he would get rid of his son. Seriously, that's how it came across to me. I fell instantly OUT of love with him at that point. He won points back when he was there for her after she'd let Robert and Fred both go, but not enough for him to be the sexy, appealing man he'd once been to me. My friend fell in love with him on the home town visit and thinks DeAnna should choose him. She also doesn't think DeAnna would have brought him this far along if she wasn't going to pick him - because of his son. He's a bit of a dud to me.

Then there's Jeremy. I don't really know what to think of him. He's just kind of there for me. Not appealing. Not sexy. But not, NOT either of those things either. But listening to her the other night she kept saying, "he's just perfect. he has the perfect job, the perfect house, the perfect (whatever)". And all I could think was, nothing's perfect. My advice to DeAnna is, if it looks too good to be true, it probably is. There were just things on the home town date that just gave me the creeps about Jeremy. There are some that think Jeremy will go the distance but for the life of me, I can't see why.

Oh, but the point of the blog was, my friend was telling her boyfriend how funny it was that I'd never watched the show and now I can't wait until Monday nights to see what DeAnna does with the men. I mean, I really still don't get the appeal of the show but I'll be there Monday night, watching with the rest of America.

P.S. I was going to tell you how my friend has also got me watching So You Think You Can Dance (another show I don't get the appeal of) but this blog post ran longer than I meant for it to so maybe another time..... ;)

Interesting dreams

I've been having some interesting dreams lately. I think my favorite (of late anyway) came Monday night, after I'd watched The Bachelorette. Now, I have to point out that I've never watched this show in the past. One of my best friends in the whole world loves it and wants to talk about it all the time so I kind of follow what's happening without actually seeing a second of the show. She knows I don't get the show and don't understand the appeal of it but we're good enough friends that we can both respect each other's opinions on things like this.

Anyway, for some reason or another I decided to watch this season of the show. I watched the first one and all the while I was thinking to myself "I so don't get this show". Then I called my friend the next day and told her that...again (she hears it from me all the time). But, I did decide after that first show that I was going to watch the season. You know, kind of like that train wreck that you have to stop and stare at. You don't really understand why you have to do it but you just can't not do it. That's kind of how it is.

So, about the dream. I had just finished watching Monday night's show when I went to bed. In my dream, I was the Bachelorette. And for those that have never seen it (including this season) DeAnna has been handing out roses to the guys. These past two weeks she's given three roses out before the rose ceremony. If they get a rose before the rose ceremony, they know they're safe - they're not going home that week. The first week was "first impression" roses. I'm not sure what the second week roses were about. I don't know if this is how it works every season or not but that's how it's working this season.

But anyway, so I'm the Bachelorette and I have roses to hand out. Only I don't have red roses like DeAnna has been passing out. I have black roses that I'm handing out. And those roses go to the men that I don't like. They don't have to wait for the rose ceremony to find out that they're history - they have to leave then. lol

I told SCG (secret crush guy) about the dream the next day and he said he totally could see me doing that. Said that would be a fun version to watch. lol

Anyway, that was my dream and I found it kind of amusing - but then I'm easily amused. ;)

From right to left we have: Marilyn Monroe (anyone recognize the boa she's wearing? got that at the RWAOL party in Dallas LOL), Jeff Bagwell, Sonny, Cher, Elvis (I was kind of disappointed we didn't have the big hair but oh well), Dean Martin, Bill Gates and Donald Trump. (The woman on the end was our MC, another staff support.) The video showing in the background was supposed to be played while the celebrities were getting dressed but because of the technical difficulties we had, we were behind on the videos. (Totally unrelated...see the guy leaning on the table? I've had some really "interesting" dreams about him. And I'll leave it at that, for now.)

Conflicts

Okay, so I mentioned that I had a conflict with DWTS last night. That conflict was a show I don't tell many people that I watch...I Wanna Be A Soapstar on soapnet. This is its fourth season and the shows air on Tuesday's at 7:00 (thank goodness for DVRs!). It's a reality show where actors compete for a contract on a soap opera. This season they're competing for a role on Days of Our Lives. The host is Cameron Mathison, who is also on DWTS.

The Soapstar show is filmed in advance, except this year the finale is going to be live and the audience will get to have a say in who wins the contract. I think it will be interesting to see how that plays out, if Cameron lasts on DWTS, because the live show of Soapstar would air at 7:00, followed immediately by the elimination round of DWTS at 8:00.

Anyway, a week or so ago I found a blog by the contestants of Soapstar. Each week the contestants post a blog about what happened, from their perspective. There was one contestant, Bo, who really annoyed me with his posts. He had bonded with two other of the men (not that way - that I know of) and thought they were the three best...he refers to them as the three musketeers. He didn't want any of them to get "killed off" and went so far as to point out why others should be killed off. Didn't like that.

I read all that and told my friend, who also watches the show, that Bo had to go. Period. He's been struggling from the beginning anyway so let's just get rid of him already! The next show though, his buddy Travis was killed off. (Travis was a frontrunner from the beginning but had had a very poor showing that night.) Bo's on air comments were like his blog. "Travis shouldn't have left. They could have killed off Yves or Ashley but Travis didn't deserve to go." (Those may not have been the exact words but that is what he said. Ashley was the other frontrunner but she seems to be losing steam herself. I'm leaning towards wanting Jimena and Yves to be in the top two.)

So last night they all had to play drunks. They were drinking for the first time after their SO broke their hearts. Bo said he was going to play it like he was crushing on the bartender. I wondered what he would do when he found out the bartender was going to be played by a man but I have to give him credit, he still did it and it was fun to watch. But then, all of the competitors did a great job last night I thought (as did the judges). And I momentarily forgot about his poor sportsmanship that made me want him to be killed off. So that when he WAS killed off, I was disappointed (I had wanted it to be Justin - his other buddy, who also seems to have a bad attitude about the competition, just in a different way). Once I remembered, I was okay with the decision last night.

Now, as far as DWTS goes, I so do not understand the judges. Monday night they told Jennie Garth how wonderful she was (and I agreed) and gave her all straight sevens. Last night I thought Cameron Mathison had a poor showing (and the judges seemed to agree), and he also got straight sevens. What gives? I still gave Cameron some of my votes but I really didn't feel like he'd put in the work some of the others had.

Lots of conflicts.

Happy Dancing

Well, today officially starts the new season (although I do think some networks - maybe non-network? - started last week). Dancing with the Stars premieres tonight and I'm excited. The women dance tonight and the men tomorrow (which I have a conflict with *sigh* but I'll work it out). I'm also looking forward to Private Practice, Desperate Housewives and Brothers and Sisters. There are a couple of other shows I'll probably watch - at least initially (like Grey's Anatomy and Ugly Betty) but those are my (at least initially) must see TV shows. Obviously I'm an ABC girl. :-)

Secret Crushes

Have you ever been reading a romance novel and thought "people don't really do that"?

I have and one of the situations that I think that about is when the heroine (for example) just sees the hero and goes all weak-kneed. She just melts in front of him and becomes mindless. I read that and get annoyed because, who really does that? I mean, maybe we want that to happen and maybe that's what the author is counting on - our ability to suspend disbelief that a perfectly intelligent female could forget her own name and want that.

Okay, so that's where I am on the matter - and then I get this picture. It came in the inter-company mail yesterday and is a picture of the holiday party committee (minus two) for last year's party.

And that's when I remember that there is someone who has that effect on me - and he's in this picture. Now, looking at the picture of him does nothing for me - really. But in person, I just become jello. He just smiles at me and says hi and I can forget anything. Like the fact that he has a wife and kids. Morals? Values? What are those?

I don't think about it much, unless I see him and this picture brought it all back to the surface again. Then I found out yesterday that Friday was his last day at work. *sigh* I won't run into him in the hallways anymore or see his smiling face. This photo is the only thing I have left of him. My one consolation is that I'm sure the only reason he left the company was to save his marriage because, of course, he's secretly in love with me too and his wife made him choose between us. I mean, it couldn't be that he had a better opportunity with another company, could it? ;o)

Local Chapter Activities

Tomorrow my local chapter is hosting a reception for local booksellers and published chapter authors. The only reason I get to participate is because I'm on the board of directors of the chapter.

Anyway, we all have duties and responsibilities. Mine was to collect materials from the authors and put them in goodie bags for the booksellers (to remember our authors). We all also have to bring some food dish. I always hate that part because I don't know a lot of fast and easy recipes. But it's expected.

So fine, I asked a co-worker for her recipe for the crockpot meatballs and sauce she brought to an event last year. Figured it would be easy. And it turns out it's only four ingredients (including the meatballs) in the crockpot for a couple of hours. Perfect!

I bought all the ingredients (actually twice as many meatballs as I needed but, oh well), then our president sends out an email asking for finger food. Finger food? I'm thinking meatballs don't count as a finger food. So I emailed the author whose house it will be at (I've been there a couple of times and realized it might be difficult to have the meatballs on the table if they needed to be plugged in, so to speak) and asked what she thought about a crockpot dish. She said it could go on the pass-through between the kitchen and dining room if I was okay with that. Which I would be if I didn't think it would be completely overlooked (and I did mention I bought way too many meatballs, right?) so I offered a compromise. I said I would cook them beforehand and, if she didn't mind, heat them up there so that they could go on the table.

I'm waiting to hear back from her but I really hope she's okay with it because even on the off chance that all the meatballs that are currently cooking (which is half of what I bought) are eaten tomorrow, I still have a ton more left (or did I mention that already?).

Anyway, corning ware can go in the microwave and the oven, right?

Oh, and as an aside, please email (or post here) your best recipes for potato salad. I volunteered to make this for boss's day and while I used to have a recipe for it, I don't anymore.

Have I mentioned that I hate events that require I make food and bring it? *sigh*

Can you keep a secret?

I've mentioned before that this is my secret blog. . . no one knows about it. I have one person that I don't know from RWA that knows about this blog (and only one person from my local chapter - and she doesn't know the name [I did tell her once, she just didn't remember it - which I'm okay with]), and I trust her with all my secrets so it's okay if I put this post out there.

At work we're getting ready for boss's day. Last year we dressed all our bosses up as pirates and the everyone else had to guess which pirate they were supposed to be. It was fun and all but at the time, I suggested we do a 50s theme this year. They all said okay and them I'm sure they promptly forgot about it. But I didn't.

So a few weeks ago we had our monthly Staff Support (SS) meeting and I brought it up again. I threw out the 50s theme again and they all liked it, but then started leaning towards Elvis and wanting to dress all the male bosses as Elvis from different times in his career. The lone female boss was going to be dressed up as Priscilla. Okay, we have a starting point.

Then, a co-worker and I decided to see where we could find Elvis "costumes" for cheap (because we pay for all of this out of our own pockets) and ended up at buycostumes.com. From there we went to their adult wig selection and we went off in another direction.

I sent an email to all the other SS telling them what we'd found and we scheduled a meeting for today to discuss further. I'd come up with an idea for a game, which was a starting point but after we started brainstorming I think what we decided was even better. We made a lot of decisions and I think it's going to be so much fun. We're going to dress up eight people (we're doing more than usual). We'll have Elvis, Donald Trump, Bill Gates, Dean Martin, Jeff Bagwell, Marilyn Monroe, Sonny, and Cher.

Now, you may be saying "Didn't she say the lone female boss?" but then probably disregarded it because I also said we're dressing up more than usual. But you'd have been right the first time. We're dressing one of the men up as Cher (his SS doesn't particularly like him so her wanting to do that to him is more out of spite but we all agreed it would be fun - and we like him so. . .).

Anyway, I worked up a little "program" today creating a tri-fold document. On the outside it tells them what the event is called and other miscellaneous information. When you first open it up you see the "rules" of play (which I'll go into in a minute). When you open it further you have all the bosses' names, with a blank beside it (for their guesses), the questions they're allowed to ask and the menu (the SS make them lunch too - and we've already decided on that as well). Everyone seemed to like it.

But the rules - we've decided not to dress them up from the beginning this year. Instead, they're going to come out as themselves, having only an index card with numbered answers on it. The group will be broken up into teams and each of the "celebrities" will visit with the teams. The team will say, "I want the answer to question 5 (or whatever number)". They won't read the question. The celebrity won't know the question - only the answer (they're not going to know who they are either - at this point anyway). Each team gets to ask three questions from the list, of which there are ten, of each celebrity. Then they have to make a guess at who they are supposed to be.

At the end of it all, the teams turn in their program with the answers and the team with the most right answers wins. (We're going to get them a little something but that hasn't been decided on yet.) While they're turning in their answers, the celebrities will be leaving the room and will be asked "who are you?" to see if they know. Then we'll dress them up as their character and they'll come back into the room - to music.

Elvis will come in to "Love Me Tender", Sonny & Cher to "I've Got You Babe", Bill Gates to "Money" (I don't know if that's the name of the song but I sang it for my co-workers and they knew what I meant.), Marilyn to "Happy Birthday Mr. President", Jeff Bagwell to "Take Me Out To The Ballgame". We haven't definitely decided on Dean Martin's song and Donald Trump will come in with pink slips saying "You're Fired!"

I'm already looking forward to it and it's a good two months away! I think it's going to be a lot of fun and I'll have pictures to prove it! :o)

But don't tell anyone - it'll be our secret. ;o)

Hairspray

I went to see Hairspray this afternoon and absolutely loved it. It's one I'll probably have to buy when it comes out on DVD. The lead, Nikki Blonsky, was great, as was John Travolta as her mother. It was a fun, upbeat movie. And it had a message! It was better than I expected it to be. Always a good thing. :o)

The Theatre

I'm a big fan of the theatre . The first time I remember going was to see Yul Brynner and Deborah Kerr in The King and I back in 1982. It was either later that year or the next year that I went to see Debbie Reynolds and Harve Presnell in The Unsinkable Molly Brown. LIVE and in person! There's nothing like it.

Over the next many years, I went to the theatre with a regularity. When my ex-husband and I separated and divorced, I started taking my nieces and/or nephew with me before I made it a solo act, ocassionally deciding to go on the spur of the moment.

Only once was I disenchanted with a play I saw.

Anyway, back in the early '90s my mother and I went to Las Vegas. Debbie Reynolds had a hotel there at the time (off the strip) and we went to see her show which, in my opinion, is the best show I've ever seen in Vegas. She, in her show, commented that her fans were "of an age", suggesting that younger people didn't much care for her. Well after the show, she talked to and took pictures with anyone who wanted to chat or have their picture taken with her. I, of course, have a picture with me, my mother and her in it and made a point of telling her I (in my early 30's at the time) was a huge fan.

But, back to the theatre...I haven't been much in the last five to ten years or so. Something I keep telling myself that I will remedy soon.

At work this man who was transferred out before I arrived (over a year ago) occasionally gets mail from a theatre in Galveston...The Grand 1894 Opera House. It's what I've always pictured in my head when I read historicals and they talk about going to the theatre (although, when it tells you a seat is "obstructed", they mean it! Just so you know.). It's this quaint little place - very nice. Well, this man from work received another brochure this past week and Debbie Reynolds is going to be there this coming March. She's hosting a dance thing but I think I'm going to have to go. Galveston is less than an hour away so it's definitely doable.

It's almost a year away and I'm already excited about it. How silly is that? LOL

What celebrity would you like to see come to your area to perform?

Changes

Ever since my dog, Harley, took out my cable, I've been thinking about something. Those two days where I had no reception forced me to focus my energy otherwise (that is when I wasn't striking a pose to get in better television reception) and I realized how much time I waste with the TV on. Like now, the TV is on but the sound is muted - and I do that a lot. What's the point?

So, my thought was, I should try to go without cable during the summer. I went so far as calling the cable company to see what I would have to do and what it would cost to have it reinstalled (turned back on - whatever) at a later date. And they offered me "options". Right now I have the digital cable with a gazillion channels (I watch approximately 3 of them, but who's counting) and pay out the wazoo, what with the "extended cable" box in the bedroom and the DVR in the living room. I could cut back to the standard cable (channels 1-80) for about 1/3 of what I'm paying now (not including the DVR, which would add ~$16 back). Or I could just keep the cable line (aka basic cable) on to give me clear pictures on my local stations (and we already know I don't get reception for crap here on the local stations) for under $20.

If I do away with cable altogether and later want it reinstalled it will cost me ~$29 for the first connection and ~$19 for each additional (I currently have three lines - two in the living room but I like the option of being able to move my furniture around).

On the "basic cable" option it would cost me a one time fee of ~20 to fully upgrade - all lines.

With standard cable there would be no charge to reconnect/upgrade.

But here's the deal. I feel certain I will want my cable back when the fall line-up comes back on. Most shows I could watch online but I wouldn't be able to vote on Dancing with the Stars (unless I struck a pose at least once a week - which I could do if I had to!).

Actually, that's not even the whole deal. The reason I posted this entry tonight was, I was reading someone else's blog entry and they were talking about participating in Jessica Trapp's "100 days" and now adding a daily workout to go with it. Someone responded that they just never have time to work out anymore and that kind of hit a note with me. In Weight Watchers when they talk about exercise they bring up the things we did when we were growing up - things that we enjoyed. Things that we no longer indulge ourselves with because "we don't have time". Working out is no longer considered fun, like it was when we were younger. Instead, it's just one more thing on the long list of things we have to do and it's more like a chore. Only it's one we don't have to do, so it's one of the first ones we eliminate.

Personally, I want to make time for things. I want to read more. I want to write more. I want to start working out again. Walking the dogs (only not in my neighborhood since I'm only allowed two dogs and I have three). Yes, TV is something I sometimes enjoy but I think I indulge in it too much. And too much of a good thing is not good!

Anyway, I don't know if you've picked up on this but I think I'm talking myself more and more into getting rid of cable - at least for the summer. But I'd love to hear what others think. So if you don't have a TV or if you don't have cable - or if you know someone like that, let me hear from you and tell them to come on over and tell me why and what-for.

And for those that have TV and cable, could you give it up?

Wild Hogs

I went last night to see Wild Hogs with a friend of mine. I wanted to go see it because it looked funny and I like Tim Allen and John Travolta.

I was not disappointed. The sometimes annoying Martin Lawrence even had a good role and did a good job.

Tim Allen was Tim Allen but fortunately I like him (remember, he was one of the reasons I wanted to see this movie).

John Travolta was GREAT in this movie. I don't want to spoil anything for anyone else so I won't go into detail but he did more with expressions than anything. He just did a great job and was very funny in this role.

Then there was William H Macy. I really think (and maybe it's just me) that he's underestimated as an actor. His character (Dudley) was, by far, the most endearing character. I absolutely loved him and thought Macy played him perfectly. He was so funny...SO funny. It was a fun movie but it wouldn't have been as good without this character - and Macy playing it.

Anyway, bottom line, I thoroughly enjoyed the movie. There were some corny and predictable moments but it was good. I recommend it.
